Day 1 Zanzibar to Arusha – Tarangire National Park
Your journey begins with a morning flight from Zanzibar to Arusha, where our guide will meet you at 8:30 AM for a warm welcome. From there, drive approximately 2.5 hours to Tarangire National Park, famous for its ancient baobab trees and massive elephant populations.
Enjoy a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch, exploring a landscape rich in wildlife—lions, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, and over 550 bird species. Tarangire offers an authentic start to your safari, often with fewer crowds and more intimate encounters.
Day 2Tarangire – Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After breakfast, depart for the Ngorongoro Highlands, arriving in the afternoon with time to relax and enjoy the spectacular views of the world’s largest intact caldera.
Along the way, you may opt to visit the Olduvai Gorge Museum ($35/person) or a local Maasai village ($25/person) for a cultural immersion. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is home to around 30,000 animals year-round, including all the Big Five. Enjoy a peaceful evening at your lodge near the crater rim.
Day 3 Ngorongoro Crater – Central Serengeti
Begin with an early 6:30 AM descent into the Ngorongoro Crater for a 5-hour safari. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a wildlife paradise where you might see black rhinos, hippos, lions, flamingos, and more.
Have a picnic lunch at the scenic Hippo Pool, and for the adventurous, add a short crater rim hike ($35/person). In the afternoon, journey into the Serengeti via Naabi Hill Gate, with a short game drive en route to your accommodation in Central Serengeti.
Day 4 Full Game Drive in Central Serengeti
Today is dedicated to exploring the vast Central Serengeti, home to the iconic Seronera Valley. Choose a full-day game drive with packed lunch (9:00 AM–6:00 PM), or split your day between early morning and afternoon drives. The Seronera River is a magnet for predators and prey alike, offering excellent chances to spot lions, leopards, elephants, and hyenas.
Day 5 Serengeti – Flight Back to Zanzibar
After a final morning game drive through the Serengeti plains, you’ll be transferred to the Seronera Airstrip for your flight back to Zanzibar. You’ll arrive between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM, followed by a transfer to your hotel.
This marks the end of your safari with Nihapa Tours—leaving you with unforgettable memories of Tanzania’s legendary landscapes and wildlife.
